Scope of Work
The project involved consultancy services for the design and supervision of the construction of a border market at Suam in Bukwo District, Uganda for the client Uganda National Roads Authority. The Archcom Limited team was responsible for liaising with the client, leading the architectural and engineering design team, reviewing design plans, coordinating with stakeholders, and recommending necessary changes. The project design included stalls for foods and vegetables, butcheries, chicken and fish stalls, bulk food storage facilities, a restaurant, boundary wall, solid waste management facilities, roads, parking areas, walkways, drainage works, and landscaping. The design and tender documentation were completed in December 2024, with construction planned to commence in August 2025 and expected to take 18 months, at an estimated construction cost of UGX 11,000,000,000.
- Liaise with the client, Uganda National Roads Authority, throughout the project.
- Lead and coordinate the architectural and engineering design team.
- Prepare architectural and engineering designs for the Suam Border Market facilities.
- Review design plans and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
- Recommend necessary design changes where required.
- Prepare tender documentation for the construction works.
- Supervise the construction of the border market facilities.
